Russell is a Tubba-Gah man from the Wiradjuri Nation and has lived his life mainly within the Ngunnawal area. His knowledge of his culture, traditions and customs are clearly demonstrated on a daily basis.  His strong appreciation of his culture enables him to be fully conversant with cultural community structures that exist throughout Aboriginal communities.

Russell is, and has been, a Director and member of Aboriginal organisations for 30 years.  He has considerable first-hand knowledge of  governance regulations and practices.

He has developed and delivered governance training packages to regional and remote organisations nationwide for AILC and the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations (ORIC). 

Russell is currently the Managing Director at ATSI ICT Aboriginal Corporation.
