Lynette is of Torres Strait Islander Descent. Lynette’s passion is to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to understand how the health system works, she is dedicated to ensuring people have a clearer understanding of their health problems and to advocate on their behalf.  

Lynette currently works as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Liaison Officer at the Cairns Hospital. Lynette has a degree in nutrition, she is a qualified health worker and has worked in health and homelessness for a number of years.

Lynette is Co-chair on the Emergency Department Cultural Safety Working Group and Chairperson of the Cairns NAIDOC Committee. Lynette Completed the Cert IV in Indigenous Leadership at the AILC and is a committed member of the AILC alumni.
